I brought my tractor in because the oil leaked out of the rear axial gear case and asked Gene to look the whole thing over while he was at it. Got it back and paid 340 for the service. Two days later all the oil dumped out again on my patio. Gene told me he put a heavier weight oil in hoping that would fix it-did not tell me this when he dropped it off, then told me I would need to replace the whole gear box at 600 dollars. Brought it to an authorized repair place and they replaced the axial seals for 120 parts and labor. Gene would not cover the cost or admit any wrong doing. I would not recommend him.

Small business owner would rather give away his business to Home Depot than grow his own business. I went in to ask about a lawn mower part I was looking for and without skipping a beat, he told me Home Depot sells parts. I asked about a price, hoping that would make him at least look it up and quoted me an estimated price without walking stopping eating the salad he seemed more interested in eating. Here's the best part... Despite me telling him twice it was for a Troy Bilt mower he sent me off to Home Depot. I drove to Home Depot and Home Depot does not even sell Troy Bilt products. Wasted my time all around. I prefer to ship small local businesses over big block chains but here is a small business owner that doesn't seem to want the business

Called asking if they have parts, person answering said "we are a full service dealer". So OK, do you,have this part for my saw? Reply "no we dont have any parts"... I laughed and was told "Go F++k yourself".. Award winning personalities there i guess.

Least fav power equipment in OC. highest prices. Lowest quality service. He's there when it's convenient for him not during business hours. Worth the trip to sherwood's.
