i got keys made. the pro at the counter helped me out. no charge for the key that didn’t work and gave great advice on how to get the right key made. it worked! will go again

Terrible Customer Service Experience at Ace Hardware I recently visited the Ace Hardware store at 960 Mamaroneck Ave in the Village of Mamaroneck, NY, and it was one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. I went there to purchase a PVC pipe and was met with complete indifference from the staff. Upon entering the store, I noticed four workers sitting by the entrance, absorbed in their cell phones. None of them offered any assistance. When I asked where I could find a PVC pipe, one of them lazily looked up and said it was "on the left at the back of the store." I searched thoroughly but found no PVC pipes there. Frustrated by the lack of help, I decided to leave. It was only then that I noticed the PVC pipes stored outside in a rack. Given that I was in a hurry, I reluctantly decided to purchase the pipe. When I asked the workers if the pipes outside were for sale, one of them claimed he didn't even know they were there. Despite the unhelpful staff, I still bought the pipe. I then asked if someone could cut it in half so it would fit in my vehicle. One employee said he had something to cut with but didn't want to fetch a measuring tape to find the center length of the pipe. At this point, my frustration peaked, and I told the employee that their customer service was terrible. Instead of addressing my concerns, he laughed and ridiculed me with the other employees as I left. I will never visit this Ace Hardware store again, even if it means driving 20 miles to another store. I didn't think it was possible to find worse service than at Home Depot, but this Ace Hardware proved me wrong. I strongly advise against visiting this store if you value good customer service. You will likely leave as frustrated as I was.

A great option closer to home which only takes about 5 minutes to get to instead of 15 minutes to get to a large home improvement store in Port Chester. As long as they have what I am looking for it is a great, convenient location.

On wed feb 27th I came to buy some paint at 5:30pm only to find the store closed and locked up despite the listed hours going to 6pm. I had to hightail it to the New Rochelle store where they thankfully were open and willing to help. I get that this is a relatively new location without too much traffic yet, but it’s no way to build a brand closing early when people are counting on you to be open your advertised hours. Call ahead…

It was a welcome relief to have a well-stocked hardware store nearby ever since we lost Brewers. This place is really good and has many items for all purposes.
