, 1/14/25. Hello, everyone. I am writing to revise the negative review of the Ace Hatchet Hardware Store that I posted. At the time when I attempted to place my order with Ace, and after weeks of contacting my financial institution, and encountering further declines against my account by other merchants, I recently have proof that my financial institution sent a debit card to me, that is defective, which causes some merchants to see an error message of decline, but, for security reasons, and due to problems with the card, the bank doesn't see it on their records, causing the conflict. Last week, I contacted Ace, and they agreed to accept another form of payment, and delivered my order, and were accommodating by phone, which I sincerely appreciate, and am completely satisfied with the purchase, and their willingness to provide assistance, despite the misunderstanding, that was not their fault. Currently, I am working with my financial institution, and requesting that they investigate their error, and replace the defective card to prevent further conflict. I want to retract my prior negative posting, and thank Ace and their manager. I appologize for my misjudgment, and regret my error. I rate Ace with five stars. I have recently received a message from Ace that their Tech Support department is currently working to resolve the accessibility issues with their mobile app, and website, which I also appreciate. I recently purchased a key which they skillfully produced from a broken key that I had for years. The problem is it snapped in half within a month or so. I brought it back for a replacement as the key is very thin and the quality is obviously poor. They refused to replace a $4 key, saying that there is a problem with the way I am using the key. I've never had any other keys break this quickly and none of the other keys on my key chain. While I may look younger I'm 50 years old and I certainly know how to use a key. To blame a customer for your product failure is always a bad move. The amount of money is insignificant, but the customer service and their willingness to lose business over this amount and not stand behind their product was certainly disappointing for a business that I previously thought well of. For me good customer services everything! They didn't care one bit when I asked if they were willing to lose my business over that small amount. And so they will! While this visit was about a key I have purchased other items at that location and 3 other locations in the capital region. I love supporting small businesses...local businesses and would normally pay a little more to do so. I will certainly not visit this one again. I understand that this is a franchise and I had this unpleasant experience at the Fuller Road location in Colonie, NY. On a positive note, my experience at the Wynantskill location has been terrific and the one in Niskayuna has been pretty good as well.

This is the worst hardware store I have ever visited. Customer service is non existent. The products are poor quality. I live and operate my business close to them. I thought it would be good to have a local hardware store in area again since Phillips closed. This ace is terrible. They advertise lawn mower repair. Do not bring mowers there. They do not know anything about products they sell. I do my own repairs and never brought a mower there. From questions I have asked their staff they pull parts off shelf and change parts. That means you pay full retail price. I wanted to buy new Stihl sunglasses. The only option was the one pair on rack that was scratched with finger prints all over them. I asked about order some new ones. Two employees said they can only order more when the ones on rack are sold........

Bought a $40 half inch breaker bar it didn't last an hour before it fell apart. Went back to the store to try to return the piece of junk they sold me and they denied my return then called the cops on me. What a way to do business I hope u go out of business soon

I like the store and I am happy they are finally taking the rewards card. The staff is friendly and very helpful. I met a man named Saul who was putting up a Halloween display and asked my opinion about lights, he did use my suggestion but I have to say the big cat should be up on the table with the smaller stuff around him, you can't see the lights and other items because the cat hides them...
