I walked in after my car's fab battery died while trying to get into my car. They were so kind! They knew which battery to switch it out and they took apart the fab to replace it. Was in and out under 10 minutes which was perfect since my car was illegally parked. True modern day heros! 5/5!

Came in with my dad to pick up some extra things to put in an AC bracket for a window unit. We brought in some of our supplies and tools because we were feeling a little stuck, and the guys here were super friendly and patient with us, especially given that English is not my father’s first language. We only bought one small piece for a drill, but they spent time listening to us while I asked if our game plan made sense. What I really appreciated is that my dad was getting frustrated with the bracket I bought (which of course I got a cheap one from Amazon). He asked if they had any in store, so the guy working there showed us what he had and explained how they needed to be installed, but told us we should still try using what we have first with the new drill piece we were buying. I appreciated that they weren’t pushing us to buy things that we don’t need and have my dad a little more confidence in getting this job done. That experience alone will have me coming back in the future when I need anything to fix something up in my apartment, and I’ll recommend them to any of my friends in town who need something.

Places like this are hard to come by nowadays. I stopped by General Lumber True Value today with a very unique ask for some specific screws and rubber washers for my golf clubs. The gentleman behind the counter was more than happy to help show me their options and make sure I was getting exactly what I needed, treated me like family. We also shared some good banter about the golf in this area. He insisted everything I needed was free of charge just wanted me to share who took care of it. Best hardware shop in the Hoboken/NYC area, as well as just an overall elite business. Look no further than General Lumber True Value. Thank you!

If your jonesing for some old school Hoboken comradery and the friendliness of your local barkeep and the dude version of hair salon gossip the people who work at this down to earth but highly capable hardware store are worth chatting with. All highly knowledgeable and super helpful. 5 stars and best of luck.
