I just wanted to give accolades to Erik P and his staff at the Miller Place location of Brinkman's Hardware. This store is immaculate in its appearance and in its helpful/knowledgeable/courteous staff. Went here today for a new propane tank. Brought my old one with me. Left it in front of the filling station and went inside. Purchased new tank and said I had an old one to dispose of. Fellow at counter told me that they don`t take the old tanks anymore, but just 2 weeks ago I was told that they do. So when the worker came over to give me my new tank he said he would be happy to take my old one so I let him. 15 seconds later the man from the counter came out waving his finger at me like a nut. Telling me that I was told no but did it anyway. I tried to tell him that he said no but the other fellow said yes, but he was not interested just kept on ranting and pointing his finger at me. I kept calm when I saw he was out of control and would not listen. I took my tank and left telling him he just lost a customer. I should have returned the new tank and taken the old back along with my business. This is unfortunate as I never had a problem with Brinkmans in the past. I guess I will give my future business to ACE This is an update to my review... Eric from Brinkmans called me to apologize for the treatment I received today. This was a pleasant surprise that this store actually pays attention to customers complaints. I always had nothing but good comments about this business, and they now made me happy that I was not wrong. I WILL continue giving my business to Brinkmans and hope anyone reading this will also.

I called at 7:50pm (8pm Close time) to inquire about play sand. Since they carried this item I rushed and arrived at 7:55pm. They loaded ten bags of the sand into my suv like pros! No complaining! Thanks for accommodating me guys just minutes before closing!
